Notoriously known for its statement making footwear, synonymous with punks and rebels, Dr. Martens has made its fourth-coming known at Sunway Pyramid with the brand’s fourth retail outlet in less than two years.
House to several styles of the iconic “workers’ boot” and ‘Made In England’ designs, this iconic British footwear brand has a space of 1,406 sq feet to showcase their latest collections from accessories to footwear. The celebra90tion was joined by local celebrities Amy Search, Nabila Huda, Wak Doyok, Dato’ AC Mizal, Hunny Madu and more. Customers can look forward to the complete season’s collection including the exclusive ‘Made in England’ range, Refine, Re Invented and Rugged collections at the latest outlet.
Dr. Martens is a brand that intensely supports the brash self-expression of youth in today’s fashion movement. Bold, strong, inspired and expressive! Two notable designs were honoured during the launch event as part of the ‘Dr. Martens Design A Boot’ competition, which was held earlier this year for the brand’s ‘Stand For Something’ campaign. The competition invited fans of the brand to design their own Dr. Martens boots along with aspirations of what they stand for.
With one of the designs celebrating music and another representing the need to dare to be unique and different, it is evident that Malaysians know how to stand out from the crowd in their own distinctive individualistic way and make bold choices, which is true to the legacy of the brand.
Dr. Martens started as a homage to the British working class with boots styled to mimic the working man (policemen and postmen etc) and has since evolved and embraced into various subcultures from mods, glam rock, punks, ska, psychobillies, grebos, goths, industrialists, hardcore, straight-edge and grunge, bringing extraordinary individuals into a league of their own!
These shoes are also known for its ‘AirWair’ cushioning, detailed stitching and craftsmanship. Dr. Martens then soon established itself as an iconic footwear emblem of a diverse selection of ideologies and forms of expressions which is now a fashion statement worn by stylists, celebrities, fashionistas and punks alike. The journey of self-expression has always been accompanied by a pair of Doc’s! by: Adeline Tan The Dr. Martens retail store is now opened at:
