Five Restaurants To Check Out This Weekend

Here is a definitive guide for where to eat in the Klang Valley! Our resident foodie has decided after a great deal of deliberation and tasting. These are some truly unique and delectable options if you are mulling over where to eat over the weekend.

Bold & Modern
Manmaru means circular or round in Japanese and it describes the restaurant’s holistic approach to modern Japanese cuisine. In keeping with its core ‘circular’ philosophy, Manmaru was purposely conceived as an all-encompassing food and beverage brand that can deliver different culinary concepts and multi-sensorial dining experiences, all designed to complement the chosen location and to charm customers. Manmaru may just be a game-changer in the Japanese dining world, as it prides itself in creating unique experiences and uses only the freshest and carefully handpicked ingredients to produce a wholesomely delicious yet reasonably priced menu. Opened in the all-new Atria Shopping Mall, its avant-garde interior design and distinct robatayaki concept is a blatant departure from the usual blond wood and Japanese kitsch repertoire.

Breath of Fresh Air
Concealed in the same building as The Signature Suites, The Forum is an exquisite breath of fresh air amidst the hustle and bustle of Desa Sri Hartamas, providing a beautiful array of food and a great space to take a break. Helmed by the folks behind The Signature’s Proof Café, this place is bound to be a huge hit with the Instagramers in the months ahead. Serving modern feel-good fare like pan-fried Norwegian salmon with couscous, green lentils, charred corn, with dill and lemon aioli which makes substantial use of very fresh produce, while also offering different textures and well-balanced flavours. Our favourites include the mushroom risotto, herb-crusted chicken, waffles and their lobster bisque. If you are looking for something sweet, The Forum has an inventive selection of desserts which include cookies baked to order which are served with cold milk, rambutan granite and zucchini lime cake which is a moist delight with slightly tangy hints.

Pie Nation
Run by married duo, Patty & Pie isn’t your regular pizza pie shop! Moving from London to Malaysia was a huge life-changing decision for them to make but after experimenting recipes with family and friends they decided to manage their own restaurant. Being massive fans of burgers and pizzas, Nadal (the chef and significant other) came up with the concept, décor and menu that specialises in burgers and pizzas, with their ingredients all being halal and exceptionally fresh. Savour handmade Italian wood fired pizzas that are made using homemade dough that have been hand-stretched and tossed in front of your eyes. The pizzas are topped with your choice of robust tomato, cream or garlic sauce, mozzarella and a variety of toppings which include baba ganoush, spicy beef chorizo, goat’s cheese, roasted walnuts and more. Get ready for a sensational experience for your taste buds!
