Best Dressed At The 2016 Tony Awards

The women of Broadway brought out their absolute best for the 70th Annual Tony Awards on Sunday night in New York City. Our jaws were on the floor after seeing all of the unbelievable looks coming through the Tonys red carpet outside of the Beacon Theatre.

Some of our favourites include Joan Smalls who brought the sexy to the red carpet with a wide, plunging neckline and Lucy Liu who rocked a sweet Zuhair Murad Couture gown. The event was hosted by James Corden, and had some major fashion moments and the Great White Way’s best and brightest were in attendance to be honoured in the year’s best plays, musicals, performances and other achievements in theatre.
We list down who were Broadway’s finest as they walked down the red carpet before the main event.

Michelle Williams

Williams brought some edge with a body conscious white Louis Vuitton dress with a silt right down the middle. She paired the simple sexy dress with black accessories and a deep red lip, portraying the epitome of a Goth princess.
Danai Gurira

The Walking Dead star looked like a different woman (not covered in grim and zombie guts) in a luxurious canary yellow Rosie Assoulin. She looked picture perfect with a clutch that matched her bright purple lip.

Joan Smalls

The supermodel turned heads in this bohemian inspired Altuzarra dress with ethnic prints and black piping.

Lupita Nyong’o

Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play nominee Lupita Nyong'o was stunning in floral. The Oscar winner went off the shoulder in a custom vibrant BOSS gown.

Lucy Liu

Presenter Lucy Liu was springy and pretty in yellow, wearing a yellow Zuhair Murad halter-neck gown with embellishments at the bodice.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Presenter Mary Elizabeth Winstead went incredibly glam in Zuhair Murad. She kept her hair and makeup simple with the shimmering number, which featured a sheer top and a voluminous skirt.

Jordan Dunn

Jourdan Dunn worked the red carpet in Zac Posen, spectacular in a strapless blush dress with a lengthy train.

Claire Danes

Danes wore a Narciso Rodriguez gown and Eva Fehren jewellery and she looked magnificently stunning as the silky navy blue dress fit her like a glove.
